do it, just do it...DO IT!

i haven't updated since keane and that feels like forever ago...sooo let's get this started, yeah? i'm not sure what i did 2 weekends ago...i'm guessing not a lot if i can't remember it...i think i had to get up early one morning...oh b/c my brother left for his 3 week trip to the south pacific so i drove to the philly airport w/ my family but that was on like...the 14th. ok so anyway i'll skip to the fun part.
last thursday...that was the 16th (which marked exactly 3 months til i turn 21...woo!) and that's when i drove down to Virgina! it really wasn't that bad of a drive, the worst part was going through D.C., that freakin city hits you with traffic so bad, i was sitting on the beltway for like 2 hours...no beltway next time! but other than that the ride was great, i only had to stop once to fill up the gas tank. anyway got to fort lee around 8p and met up w/ patrick, went out to dinner and checked out the area a bit. friday i hung out while he went to class, went out to the pool, got a little tan...ok fine, got a little burned :( ...went out to richmond that night and found a really cool restaurant called Europa that had an awesome lounge downstairs playing house music and there were couches and tables and it was really chill, dim lights, etc. actually they were playing 'sportscenter' for a while which seemed really out of place but eventually they turned it off and had like...sort of a visual of what the music was playing, it was really cool. so we hung out there for a while, had a few drinks (i didn't get carded yay me! god i can't wait to be 21 i felt like such a baby) then back to fort lee for the night.
saturday...john, patrick, "the germans" (2 german officers spending a couple weeks w/ the US Army), and i met up and drove around the area, found Shirley Plantation, the oldest plantation in the country!! neaaaaaat! so we took a little tour of that and walked around the grounds a bit, it was so pretty. and people still LIVE there! the family lives there hellooooooo i want to live there! and there were horses and everything.
after that we drove up into richmond through backroads, it was actually really pretty and when we got to richmond we went to...i forget the name, "the brewing company" maybe? something like that where they have a microbrewery upstairs and the downstairs is really cool so we hung out there for a while and then walked around downtown. there was a canal walk too, that was nice, patrick took some good pictures, if he sends them to me i'll put them up on my photosite. let's see...went back to fort lee...maybe took a nap? what the...oh yeah some people were going back to richmond to go out but we decided not to since we'd kind of been spending a lot of money going out. i guess we did something for dinner, i can't remember what.
sunday...church in the morning, food shopping for lunch, lunch, driving range! good thing steve had taken me golfing that week so i didn't feel like a complete idiot and i had a small idea of what i was doing. yay! john drove us there and the golf course/range was on base and it's apparantly the nicest army golf course in the country or something...or maybe top 3. then we drove around the army base and checked it out...the thing is huge, they have their own grocery store and a middle school and like 4 little neighborhoods. the base is pretty self-sufficient, if you didn't want to you wouldn't have to leave the base for anything...which i guess is good b/c some soldiers aren't allowed to leave. i'd want to be able to get off base though, i'd feel too confined. but it was neat anyway. sunday night we saw 'batman begins' with a bunch of people - i thought it was pretty good for what it was, it was entertaining and christian bale was great, i like him a lot. it wasn't an intellectual or anything but it was fun!
monday morning i drove home...once again hitting traffic in DC grrrrrrr. well actually that's a lie i didn't drive home, i drove to vicky's house and stayed there for the night yay vicky!! we went swimming and blasted music and ate her mom's amaaaaaaaazing food...mmmm good.
ok tuesday...drove home, shepatone came over! b/c on tuesday night we went to a goodbye party for nass, she's goin back to california. so that was nice i got to see some of the girls, like a little CC reunion :) oooh and on the way to the party, kel got a phonecall from her friend melissa who said she had 2 extra tickets to the dave matthews band concert in scranton on wednesday! so kel slept over on tuesday night and then wednesday we drove up to honesdale!

she thought she had a dentist appt on wednesday but it was cancelled so we went over to melissa's house and headed to DMB w/ melissa, her sister and friend, and 2 cops...yeah that's right, hangin with the popo! kel and i figure she can pretty much do whatever she wants in honesdale now. anyway got to scranton around 5p and hung out in the parking lot, did some tailgating til around 7p...it was kinda rough, it was really sunny and hot out and we were just sitting/standing in the sun. kel actually almost got sick i felt really bad. we were waiting for melissa's sister to come back from the bathroom and she almost passed out from it being hot and we'd been standing up. but then we walked up to the pavillion, caught some howie day and claimed our little space on the lawn.
dave came on around 730p and was aaaaaaaamazing. whoa. i never would have gone out of my way to see dave but i'm so glad i got the opportunity to, they were all so energetic...the bass player is really cute too. i guess they were on for...at least 2.5 hours. they played a lot of their new stuff but a lot of good old songs too. so that was a good time.
thursday...kel and i got up and went for a walk in one of the honesdale cemetary's...creepy, yet peaceful. we took her dog taffy with us, he's so cute! then we went up to her barn and rode some horsies, went on a trail ride too! then we had to pick up kel's trainers little son and take him to his mom, too bad the little bugger was a pain in the buttttttt. anyway we took him up to his mom and then drove to lake walenpaupack to visit bill, he invited us to go out on his boat so we figured why not?! his friend nick was there too and we went out on the boat and found a little island and hung out, kel and i split a big yellowtail bottle and had ourselves a little photoshoot (see my http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/megoneill21/my_photos pics) hahaha we're so awesome. stayed there til it got dark and then went to 'the boathouse' restaurant for a couple drinks and some nachos. which apparantly gave me severe heartburn which i never had before and that was kind of scary. then kel and i drove back to honesdale...good times, it was a nice night.
yesterday we went up to the barn again, rode and trail ride, back to the house for BLT's...yummm. hung around the house, then picked up ashley, kel's cousin, and drove to scranton for dinner at Don Pablo's! which was soooooo tasty, wow that was good food. then we went to the mall for a little while. but the ride home was by far the best part of the day.
we had mr. shepstone's truck so we had the radio on and the music blasting and kel and i were rockin out in the front seat, dancing so hard that by the time we got back to honesdale we were exhausted. then we were just driving around yelling "do it, just do it, do it." (like from starsky&hutch) to people. she even did it at a drive-thru it was the funniest thing i've seen in a while. lol we're crazy. so we did that for a while and then back to the house for sleeping and up early this morning b/c kel had to go to sussex to check out a horse show, and that's where my mom picked me up, and now i'm home! and enjoying relaxing...ah. that's all for now, and a big round of applause to you if you really made it all the way through this monster blog.

keaaane!!!

just got home from the keane concert...wow. wow wow wow. aaaa-mazing. more on that in a hot minute.
left off on saturday...sunday i was supposed to go play volleyball w/ steve and his buddies but he changed the time so i couldn't :( wah. went to church, came home, helped cook dinner, relaxed.
monday i decided i'd better go to hackettstown hospital and see what was up and if they were going to hire me and whatnot. but i went for a run first and showered, then i dressed up real nice and went over there and it turns out it takes 2 weeks to process applications, so that puts me at friday, hopefully i'll hear back from them next week sometime. since i was in good old hackettstown i gave steve a call and stopped by his house, hung out there for a couple hours b/c a really bad thunderstorm came over the area and i thought it best not to drive in it. and his poor dog was terrified, she was shaking i felt so bad for her! then his parents came home and they were very friendly and nice, then we went back upstairs and steve put in this 50 cent documentary thing he has...i guess it's on 50's cd or something and if you put it in you can watch. i don't really know, but it was hilarrrrrrrrrrious. i mean i like 50 cent i'm not making fun of him but wow. lol.
anywaaay, drove home, was home. boring. watched the yankees get their asses kicked YET again. losers. made plans w/ my grandma for today, today was more fun so we'll skip to that.
got up, went for a run before it got too hot out, then got a shower and got ready to go into le city. my mom yelled at me b/c i didn't go vote in the primaries, boohoo. but i didn't have time! i had to be in teaneck at 4. so i drove to grandma's house and she took me to macys b/c she had more gift certificate thingies and then we drove through the city to suzy's apt. it's really amazing how well my grandma knows the city, she took me up through harlem and we passed the Apollo theatre and she told me she saw barry white perform there in the 70's...hahahaha whoa. aaand she dropped me off at suzy's apt...which is not in harlem...it's in a really cute little area i liked it a lot. patrick called me so i talked to him but only briefly b/c suzy was double parked so we had to move some more stuff into her apt quickly, including her mattress, which apparantly led this gross old man to believe we were lesbians b/c when we walked past him w/ it he said 'oh that's a nice mattress, you two enjoy it.' ew.
made a couple more trips to the car w/ her stuff, then stopped at a deli for some sandwiches for dinner and headed up to radio city around 8p, we didn't bother going for the opening act b/c it was some woman i've never heard of and i looked her up and she was sort of weird. so anyway we got up there around 830p...oh but on the way this guy hit on suzy and told her he liked how she was drinking her diet coke. interesting pick up line. anyway, keane came on stage at around 845p and they were just...so good. super. SUPER! you know there's only 3 guys in the band?? i don't think i knew that til tonight, and they were so energetic which i didn't expect either b/c their album, to me, is more relaxing and laid back, but not anymore. i couldn't believe how into it they were from start to finish. and they played some new songs b/c they got another record deal (yay!) and those songs were really good too. and they ended the concert w/ my favorite song, whee! aaaah so good, i'm so glad i went.
then my grandma picked us up right outside the theatre when it was over and we drove suzy home, stopped at DD for some iced coffee, i picked up my car at her house and drove back home. and now i'm really tired. sooo it's time for bed!

damn birds.

a family of birds has decided to nest right outside my window, and they like to wake up really early in the morning. like sunrise early. booo birds!
there's really not a lot going on but i was kinda bored so i figured i'd come update the ol' blog. today it was soo nice out, i finished mowing the lawn and definitely got a little sunburn, as well as a freckle explosion on my shoulders and knees - nose and arms are next. i even got a couple on my fingers from today. neat. i went on a run earlier this morning, but of course while i was eating breakfast i read an article about how there has been an abnormally high number of bears in the area - mating season and whatnot. and there's also a "bearzilla" in sussex county...but despite the danger i went ahead and went for my usual run, no bear sightings! just cows and a deer. and an old lady who was sitting in a pickup truck w/ a canoe on top...that was a little odd, she was near the bridge that goes over the paulinskill when i was going and when i was coming back. by herself. sort of odd, right? and she was in the passenger seat so i looked around for anybody else to be there but nobody was. maybe i should've asked her if she was ok....sorry little old lady!! not too much else so far today...oh except for a phonecall that's had me walking around the house w/ a smile on my face. i know, i'm a dork.
yesterday my grandma, aunt, and little cousin came up to visit for a while, which was nice. and i also did a bunch of photo work yesterday, i found old pics from blair and put them in albums and put all my texas pics in an album. aaand picked up my brother from his friend courtney's house and drove him to a surprise party at another girls house...i swear that kid's been to more parties in 2 years of high school than i did in 4 years at Blair. damn boarding school! no just kidding i wouldn't trade it for anything. i can't wait til he gets his liscence (sp? that doesn't look right) and can drive himself all over the place.
i guess it was thursday that i went up to newton w/ my dad, we went to shoprite aaand harmon discounts, and the diner....mmmm diner. i love them so much. it's gonna be hard to move to a state where there isn't a diner in every town (don't panic, i'm not moving, i'm just thinking of the future)
oooooooooooooh and wednesday night was the steve mcqueen special on TMC...oooh my gosh that was amazing. even though i've read his biography, i still learned new things, and there were tons of pictures and stuff that i hadn't seen before, and stories that weren't in the book. my poor dad, i made him sit through it and watch with me.
umm yeah, i think i'm going to the mall soon w/ alex and dad b/c al needs to buy some stuff before he heads off to the south pacific in about a week. so ok, bubbye.

wow i haven't updated in a while...longer than i thought. sooo when i got back from texas i went to visit jeremy and we did our usual dinner and a movie (saw 'kicking and screaming', pretty funny) and then i stopped by CC to visit steve on duty and give him his "don't mess with texas" tshirt and headed home.
thursday i had to go back to CC b/c i was on duty that night, which was sooo very boring. there was nobody in the dorm so i just packed up my things and watched some tv and went to sleep. friday i brought my things home and then went back to school b/c i was on duty aaaaaagain. saturday was graduation day at CC but at 8am i was over in bennett-smith helping check people out for the end of the year. stayed there til about 3p then went to graduation and caught the end, congratulated a few people, and went back to b.s. to help check out more people and stayed there til 630p. then i went back to smith and packed up my car and dad came to get the things i couldn't fit in my car. then i drove over to vickys!!! b/c i hadn't seen her since january! wheeeeee! what did we do...oh, kristin came over also and we watched...something...oh, snl b/c coldplay was on, and stayed up late and talked.
on sunday vic and i watched 'the calcium kid', which is a british orlando bloom movie, and we were in such an orlando mood that we went to go see 'kingdom of heaven' later that afternoon! hehe. it was pretty good actually, and orlando was super hot in it.
hmmm went home sunday night...that week was pretty slow, i spent most of my time cleaning my room and getting all my stuff in order. spent time w/ the fam. in the middle of the week i met kristin at blair b/c her brother was going to prom and she wanted to take pics, that was cute. then we went to frank's for dinner and rented 'the notebook', went back to the house and watched it - sooo good!
ummm i thought i did something on friday but maybe not. oh duh, my aunt and little cousin came up to visit, and i took my brother to pick up his date for prom! then took them to another kid's house to wait for the limo. awwww little brother goin to prom, how cute. then i had to pick him up at like 3am, that wasn't so cute. oh well.
saturday i met kristin at blair for her bro's graduation, and we spent most of the day there. saw some people from our class, faculty, it was nice. then we went back to my house for a couple hours to hang out before a par-tay, went to that for a little while, then drove to kristin's house and hung out as she was packing up to go back to MO.
i went over to vicky's after that and slept over there b/c on sunday....
it was yankee time! we drove into the city in the afternoon and took the subway to the stadium, got there about 10 minutes before game time and found our seats in the bleachers. unfortunately the yankees lost, but it was still a good time.. ooh but tino didn't play, which was a big bummer, especially for suzy. slept over suzy's apartment, watched a memorial day parade on monday (complete with army boys and sailors! whee!) and drove back to jersey. vicky had to drive back to VT monday night so i headed home and after talking to kelly, decided that i'd go visit her!
so yesterday i drove up to honesdale and spent the day with shepatone!we went up to her barn and played with the horsies and went on a trail ride, went on a walk/hike w/ taffy, her dog, then met her parents for dinner, then went to the movies and bought some coronas w/ lime. oh and we bought gossip magazines and snacks, we had a fun night.
this morning we just hung out and then met her mom for lunch, went to DD for iced coffee (have you SEEN the new flavors they have??? mmmmmm) and then got my stuff together and made it home in a speedy hour and 20 minutes. not tooooo bad.
now i'm gonna go outside and help dad w/ the lawn - hopefully get some sun! laterrrrr.
